This 200-years old home in Dorval, Quebec, Canada, namely Chermin Bord du Lac comes anew after going through some modern renovation which turns this residence into modern contemporary house.
Old building is preserved, and combined with new extension of modern design; this two different architecture style of different age come side by side, complement each other in contrast while in unity of function. This beautiful contrast of two building sure is standing out from its surrounding, representing combination of old and new.
This house of mid century renovation is like comes with two different appearance. The old building is antique and unique, with its hard texture on exterior as its skin, with its old architecture style of mid century, while the new one comes with modern architecture style reflecting nice geometrical form and beautiful texture of the wood as its skin. They are so different.
On the other side of this two building, nice pool with strong accent of wood material seems to refine these two. On top of that, this building stand on land with beautiful views of nature, thus even with its contrast appearance, surrounding environment just make this contrast to be standing out differently and elegantly.
On interior performance, the old building and the new one, seems to be connected vy renovating interior on old building. With its antique and unique atmosphere of old building, modern furnishing and flooring make the theme to be eclectic, for kitchen area, the stone wall and modern kitchen set tends to be minimalism, while on living room, old structure of exposed wood work and modern wood furnishing tend to have rustic living concept.
As for new building, its modern contemporary theme is clearly stood out both on exterior and interior. Even with these two different circumstances after modern renovation, these two offers same connectivity and nice space for living for sure.
